UP Health System – Portage provides 24/7 emergency care to evaluate, stabilize, and treat injured patients. Our team is trained to deliver rapid assessment and lifesaving interventions, with immediate access to:
-
- Emergency medicine physicians and intensivists
- On-call trauma and orthopedic surgeons
- A dedicated emergency department equipped for trauma care
- Continuous radiology and CT imaging services
- A fully staffed operating room for urgent surgical needs
- Resuscitation and advanced monitoring capabilities
- Specialized intensive care services
As a Level III Trauma Center, we are equipped to manage a wide range of injuries, from minor to serious trauma, offering emergency surgery and critical care services when needed. If a patient’s condition requires more specialized treatment, we coordinate seamless transfers to Level I or II Trauma Centers, ensuring the highest level of care at every stage of treatment. Our role is essential in providing immediate trauma care close to home while maintaining strong collaboration with higher-level trauma centers for advanced treatment when necessary.
