Support for Patients and Families
UP Health System – Marquette offers comprehensive support for trauma patients and their families. This team includes but is not limited to, specially trained physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, social service professionals and spiritual care. This team assists families with emotional, spiritual and financial needs during times of crisis.
Our trauma team is specially trained and experienced in all aspects of trauma care and recovery. They coordinate the hospital efforts and serve as the single point of contact for patients, family members and ancillary members of the patient's care team. The trauma team also fulfills the role of patient advocate, providing a knowledgeable voice for patients and families to assist with the navigation of treatment and recovery.
After the critical period of care has passed, trauma team members help families by serving as liaisons to outside agencies involved with the case or helping families understand insurance and general care questions.
Supporting Trauma Survivors
UP Health System – Marquette is a proud partner of the Trauma Survivors Network (TSN), a national community dedicated to helping trauma patients and their families navigate the recovery process. Through this partnership, we provide access to valuable resources, peer support, and educational programs designed to empower survivors on their healing journey.
