What is Osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis is a disease that develops over time, when your bones become less dense. It occurs when the creation of new bone does not keep up with the loss of old bone, causing bones to become very weak and brittle. In its advanced stages, bones can be broken by simple daily living activities like carrying groceries, opening a jar, or even hugging.
