Kristin Vandeville is the Clinic Coordinator at UP Health System – Doctors Park.
What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I am the Clinic Care Coordinator at UP Health System – Doctors Park.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
My grandfather passed away when I was 17 and I can remember the amazing care the nursing staff provided to him during his stay at the hospital, as well as to us his family. They were my heroes. I knew I wanted to be like them when I grew up.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
Every day is challenging and rewarding. My day can be spent writing new processes, making the schedule, working on ways to help us meet our quality metrics, problem-solving to improve workflow, assisting the clinical and clerical staff with their daily needs.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have been in this position for a little over 3 years.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
Hands down the COVID pandemic. To keep our staff and patients safe, we created and followed new protocols and processes. We also had to do a lot of education that changed frequently as we learned more about COVID-19.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
I love spending time with my children, husband, and friends. My family and I enjoy doing things outdoors. We enjoy going up to camp in the Summer.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
Our team at Doctors Park! They are the reason I continue working here. I am very fortunate to work with the most incredible group of people I have ever met. They work hard, provide excellent customer service to our patients, and overall help make each day enjoyable.
