Brandon Ogle, Respiratory Therapist at UP Health System — Marquette.
What is your official title?
I am a Respiratory Therapist at UP Health System — Marquette.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I rounded in Respiratory Therapy in a course in high school and I have been hooked ever since.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
There luckily isn’t a typical day. Every day brings a new challenge and if we do our best, we may save a life.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have worked here for 19 years. I’ve worked in both Respiratory Therapy and EMS.
What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?
The pandemic has caused respiratory therapists to be needed by our patients more than ever. The challenge to get every patient the care they deserve is what we focus on.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy the UP summers with swimming and camping.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
The Marquette community. Look at what they’ve done for us recently with their generosity of masks, food, thank you cards, and even a thank you sculpture. How can you not give 100% back to these people?
