UP Health System – Portage Welcomes Telehealth Rheumatologists, Linda Belhorn, MD, and Christine Matijasic, DO

UP Health System – Portage is pleased to welcome Linda, Belhorn, MD, and Christine Matijasic, DO. Dr. Belhorn and Dr. Matijasic provide comprehensive rheumatology services, including general rheumatology, autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and psoriatic arthritis. 

Board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, Dr. Belhorn attended medical school at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, followed by her residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Dr. Belhorn is also fellowship-trained in rheumatology from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. 

“I am delighted to be a part of the new venture of telehealth rheumatology in the Upper Peninsula, and I am looking forward to getting to know my patients and other providers at UP Health System – Portage,” said Dr. Belhorn.

Dr. Belhorn enjoys the challenges of diagnosis and decisions on management using the growing array of treatment options available for rheumatologic diseases. “I enjoy treating my patients as I would my family and friends. Developing a strong relationship with my patients is important to me, as it allows me to optimize their healthcare outcomes and provide the compassionate care they need."

Board-certified in rheumatology, Dr. Matijasic completed her residency in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. She completed her fellowship in rheumatology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, where focusing on diagnosing and treating her patients as the whole person — not just their disease — was her priority and still remains one. Dr. Matijasic also specializes in vasculitis, osteoarthritis, soft tissue injuries, and gout.

"With more than 15 years of experience in the field, I'm honored to bring rheumatology services to residents of the Upper Peninsula and beyond," said Dr. Matijasic. "As a physician, I am excited to provide quality care and build trusting relationships with my patients."

Rheumatology is a new telehealth service at UP Health System – Portage and will be available through onsite clinic appointments at UP Medical Group – Portage Internal Medicine, located at 500 Campus Drive, Hancock, MI.
