What is your role at UPHS – Marquette?
I am a registered radiologic technologist and mammographer in the Imaging Department.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
My dad worked in the maintenance department at Marquette General Hospital. He encouraged me to apply to the radiology program.
What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?
A typical day involves taking x-rays in the department on outpatients and inpatients, performing fluoroscopy exams, mammography and performing stereotactic breast biopsies.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?
I have worked in the Imaging Department at UP Health System – Marquette for 25 years.
What are some of the big changes you've experienced in this position?
The move to the new hospital and being able to offer help with our department was an exciting change. Another change is our technology, going from film to digital radiography.
What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?
I love spending time with my family. We like to go hiking and see waterfalls in the Upper Peninsula. We really enjoy traveling around the United States and seeing the National Parks.
What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?
I enjoy working with a great group of coworkers in the Imaging Department. I also enjoy helping take care of patients in our community.
