What is your role at UPHS?

I am a Registration Specialist at UP Health System – Marquette. 

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?

My grandmother, Corinne, was a nurse in the Upper Peninsula for 45 years. She inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare.

What’s a typical day like for you? What is it like working in this field?

I help our team register all incoming procedures and assist our patients in coordinating their care. It’s a fast-paced, exciting role.

How long have you been employed here? Have you always been in the same position?

I have worked with UPHS – Marquette and R1RCM for over a year, and have been in the same role during that time.

What are some of the big changes you have experienced in this position?

By reimagining the registration process with technology, we have streamlined the experience for our patients.

What are some of your interests outside of work? What is your favorite local gem?

I am continuing my education at Northern Michigan University. I also have three wonderful cats and a love for traveling. My favorite place in Marquette is Presque Isle Park.

What do you enjoy most about working at UPHS – Marquette?

Helping our community have access to efficient healthcare is the highlight of this position for me.
