April 20, 2023

The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce and UP Health System – Portage is excited to present once again the Touch a Truck and Classic Car Show to the 2023 Bridgefest Lineup. This year, we are pleased to have both the touch a truck and classic car show at one location – Kearly Stadium at Michigan Tech University (lots 24 & 85) thanks to a recent collaboration with Michigan Tech Athletics.
On Saturday, June 17, from 9:30 am – 1:30 pm, members of Houghton and Keweenaw Counties are invited to tour a variety of trucks ranging between ambulances, police cars, fire trucks, construction dozers, school buses, and more. Aside from touring the trucks, there will also be a variety of other events for kids to participate in:
- Pony rides
- Petting zoo
- Face painting
- Cornhole
- Hockey shooter tutor
- 40-car classic car show and vintage motorcycles
- And more
We are also thrilled to share Michigan Tech Athletics has graciously offered to have athletes participate in the event. Between hockey, football, women’s basketball, and more, there will be a tremendous amount of black and gold on the field of Kearly Stadium. Have a favorite player? Come on down to touch a truck for your chance to meet them in person.
“It’s always great to have our student-athletes out in the community interacting with fans, family members, and other individuals of Houghton and Keweenaw Counties,” stated Joel Isaacson, Senior Associate Athletic Director, Michigan Technological University. “It’s a great way to say 'thank you' for their support.”
