UP Health System – Marquette is ringing in 2021 with the year’s first bundle of joy. Weighing 6 pounds and 11.8 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches, Sam James was born to Meghan and Jack, Friday, Jan. 1, at 11:00 am.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UP Health System – Marquette is the region’s only intensive care unit specializing in the care of ill or premature newborn infants. Our NICU is staffed by expert neonatologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical professionals who are trained in the life-saving care of newborns. The NICU serves families across the entire Upper Peninsula.
