Celebrating Our Nurses Who Make a Difference Every Day
May 4, 2022

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the National Recognition Day for Nurses – a proclamation that President Ronald Reagan signed on May 6, 1982, to honor the hard work and dedication that nurses bring to their jobs every day. Now expanded to a week-long celebration known as National Nurses Week, the observance provides an opportunity to recognize the countless ways nurses make our hospital a better place.
Without a doubt, nurses at UP Health System make a vital and important contribution to healthcare in our community. Their voices and actions make a difference every single day – from monitoring and caring for patients at the bedside to championing new protocols and procedures and ensuring that quality is always at the heart of what we do. And it’s no secret that the resilience of our nurses over the last two years has been a cornerstone of our ability to continue advancing our mission of Making Communities Healthier®.
It is an honor to recognize all of our hardworking nurses this week and to thank them, on behalf of our entire leadership team, for the selfless devotion they provide to our patients.
Sincerely,
