Celebrating National Doctors Day | March 30, 2022
March 30, 2022
Each year in the U.S., we celebrate Doctors’ Day on March 30 to commemorate the date in 1842 when a physician first used an anesthetic during surgery, and to more broadly celebrate the contributions physicians make to the healthcare profession and to the communities they serve.
At UP Health System, we routinely witness the skill, compassion and leadership physicians bring to the interdisciplinary care teams who help our patients recover from injury or illness. Doctors’ Day is a great opportunity to tell our physicians how inspired we are by their courage and commitment, and how appreciative we are of the expertise they add to our hospital and to our care.
Throughout the last two years, as the rapid spread of COVID-19 strained healthcare personnel and resources across the country, our doctors time and again rose to the occasion, leading our hospital and community in unprecedented ways. They found time to comfort patients and connect them – even virtually – with their family members and friends, they shared best practices and encouragement with fellow clinicians, and helped UP Health System persevere during this international health crisis.
They are the healing hands of this organization, and essential in helping us fulfill our mission of Making Communities Healthier.
Please join us in thanking our physicians for their continued commitment to our hospital and for the invaluable knowledge, expertise and level of care they bring to our community. Their hard work, care and compassion are greatly appreciated – not just today, but every day of the year.
