UP Health System – Bell Adds Amelia Schafer, FNP-BC, to Family Medicine and Women’s Health

UP Health System – Bell is pleased to announce the addition of Amelia Schafer, FNP-BC, to Family Medicine and Women’s Health.
Amelia graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Shortly after, she attended the University of South Carolina Upstate where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Most recently, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing Practice from Anderson University in South Carolina.
A board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Amelia specializes in general adult and pediatric medicine, preventative screenings (annual wellness checkups), common gynecologic conditions, bladder health, pelvic pain, anxiety, depression and more.
Establishing a primary care provider is important and helps to keep patients in good health as they age. For Amelia, her goal is to form strong connections and empower patients to take control of their own health and be the best version of themselves possible.
“I have always been drawn to the relationships you can make as a medical provider and look forward to building strong provider-patient relationships by focusing on the patient as a whole and listening to their concerns,” said Amelia. She’s excited to dive in and serve her community by using the skills she has developed through her education and medical experience.
Outside of work, Amelia enjoys being outdoors—biking, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her family. “How can you not love the Upper Peninsula? The four seasons and the small-town community are what really make it special for me. I am excited to raise my family here,” she said.
Amelia Schafer, FNP-BC, joins a robust team of providers in Family Medicine and Women’s Health. She is currently accepting new patients located in suites 104 and 105 at 901 Lakeshore Drive in Ishpeming, MI.
