What is your title and role at UPHS – Bell? I am a Health Information Clerk in the Medical Records Department.
How long have you been employed here? Have you always had the same position? I have been working at UPHS – Bell for 25 years. I started out as a transcriptionist, then went to be an inpatient coder, went back to transcription, and now a clerk all within the Medical Records Department.
What does a typical day look like for you? A typical day would include running reports for the coders, taking care of transcription issues/reports, scanning/indexing reports for the EMR, release of information, preparing birth certificates, answering phones, and multiple duties in between.
Tell us a little bit about your family: I have been married to my husband “Earl” (Scott) for 21 years, and we have two boys, Hayden and Garrett. We also have two fur babies, Bandit and Oscar.
What are some of your favorite hobbies? I enjoy spending time with family and friends, attending my children’s sports activities/events, and occasionally working on craft projects.
What is your favorite local gem? As for a favorite local gem, there are so many to pick from but I always enjoy going down around Presque Isle and climbing Sugarloaf Mountain.
What is your favorite part about working for UPHS – Bell? My favorite part of working at UPHS – Bell are my coworkers who are not just coworkers, but more like family as we have all worked together for over 20 years.
